The SCARC Station callsign VK5ARC, has been heard far and wide, whether competing in contests, field days and/or event stations. The club station has setup and operated in various locations including; SCARC Clubrooms (Karawatha Hall, Hackham Scout Hall, Pt. Noarlunga CWA Hall), in Warooka on the Yorke Peninsula S.A., Louds Hill above Willunga S.A., Pnt. Malcolm Lightouse in the Coorong, as well as JOTA/JOTI participation at numerous Scouting Groups within the Adelaide Metropolitan area.
The Contests VK5ARC has been heard, include: WIA Field Days (Summer \ Autumn \ Winter \ Spring), International Lighthouse \ Lighship Weekend, John Moyle Field Days, Remembrance Day, as well as special event stations like: VK100WIA. SCARC has a proud history of acheivements, having been awarded numerous Certificates in participation and first, seconds and thirds in our state of SA. There are several members who enjoy operating in contests, which allows exposure to upcoming Amateurs and visitors, who check out the station while operating in the various events. Plus the other members contacting the station to help with providing points\contacts.
The SCARC has been fortunate in that we had a fully operational Amateur Station at our Clubrooms, which was activated quite regularly, like our weekly Thursday night meeting, where prospective members from the public community can see first hand what Amateur Radio is about and what we do with it.
